Story of My Life: Uptown Charlotte & the Lightrail
Yesterday was a beautiful day! It was supposed to be a high of 64 and sunny. In January. I know, crazy right?! You’d think I’d be used to it after Colorado’s schizophrenic weather but after a few weeks of overcast skies I was in need of more sunshine! My friends Geoff and Calun treated me and let me tag along with them and their two cuties and we all rode the Charlotte light rail for the first time.
Such an adventure!
This is where we started.

Annabelle is such a ham for the camera, as soon as she sees it she turns on this HUGE grin!

Judah was very excited to be riding the choo choo train!

Our stop near the Epicentre.

Me & the Judah man.

The columns of quotes outside the Library are so great!

Beautiful sunset on the way home.

This was very exciting to me because I’ve been wanting to explore Uptown Charlotte more and I realized just how accessible it is and where some sweet things are that I want to go back to! What is your favorite place in Charlotte, or your city?
Story of My Life: Amelies with Ashley
The other day my house mate Ashley, who is about to move herself, and I got up early to see one of our other roomies off on the next lap of her race back in PA. Since we were up we decided to head down to Amelies. Yay for awesome French bakeries that have (of course) french press coffee and some delectable gluten free treats! Oh, and beautiful light, let’s not forget that.
This was Ashley’s treat of choice, a Key Lime Tart. My mouth is watering just looking at the picture.

And my treat, succulent Almond Tea Cakes (made with almond flour) in almond and lemon flavors.

I made her put on her glasses indoors because I wanted to get one of her with those sweet aviators in this amazing light.

Something Pretty – A Foggy Day
Yesterday was foggy and overcast and gray and melancholy and lovely and romantic and haunting and picturesque so I decided to push past my desire to stay warm and cozy inside and set out to try to capture a bit of it.

This is what my street looked like by the time I was done.

Story of My Life: Steak & Potatoes
Some days call for a hearty dinner and after all of the traveling I had one of those nights. I decided to go for the gold and cooked up a lovely steak and some pan fries, with a nice little salad on the side to keep it semi-healthful.
I didn’t grow up eating steak much so this was a new experience for me but I enjoyed experimenting and it turned out quite tasty!

Aisle14Designs ( Charlotte Product Photographer )
My dear friend Sarah started designing jewelry last year and reached the point where she wanted to launch a website and take this whole business thing by the horns. So we got together and did a little photoshoot of some of her marvelous creations. Sarah combines feminine touches such as ribbon and string, with masculine hardware, such as washers, to create the unique look that is Aisle 14 Designs. Sarah is one of the most brilliant, hilarious, and creative people I know and I can hardly wait to see where she goes in this world! To see more of her work and pricing check out her website!

The official UGA colors, and this girl knows what she’s talking about.

This is how Sarah feels about having her photo taken on the sly, did I mention that she’s extremely cheeky? It’s one of the reasons why we’re such good friends.

This is what happens when you put the two of us together.
