Maggie & Vinny

My dear friends Maggie and Vinny!  Their story is one of patience and long lasting love.  Maggie is a singer and songwriter with a voice like honey and Vinny is one of those men who can do anything.  Together they are quite a pair!  Since these photos were taken they’ve gotten married and are now expecting a baby!  Such dear friends and I’m so glad that they are together at last.  Here is a little sneak peek of their sweet love!

Go! STOP. Goooooo. Stop. Aaaaaand…go!

I was looking at my blog today feeling it’s mournful lack of updates and thinking about all the reasons why I hadn’t posted.  Here’s a brief rundown of a few of the things I’ve been up to since my last post.  More extended posts of all these “previews” are coming soon!

Attended the MorningStar University Graduation

Traveled home from Charlotte.

Stopped for a wee bit, had a fantastic birthday party – complete with a creative mustache making competition…

Went to Seattle…

To help my dear friend Luz get married…

Luz & Cole were married on Saturday and then my friend Kendra got married to Jake on Sunday in Arvada, Colorado.  Yes I had two weddings in two days in two states.

That brought me home in time to shoot engagement photos for Leigh and Mike…

And accomplish a challenging wedding day photography assignment for Ryan & Christy.

Now I’m back in North Carolina with my mom to have a little vacay at the beach with our extended family on her side!

I’m still running my Summer Portrait Specials through the end of August and then I’m moving to Charlotte, North Carolina!   As you can tell my schedule books up fast so call or email soon to schedule your time with me!

Karen & Leif’s Engagement Photos

My dear friend Karen and I went to Israel together a couple of months ago and now she’s getting married!!  It’s such an honor to get to be part of another phase of her journey!  I had so much fun hanging out with her and Leif for the afternoon, he is hilarious!  It truly was a joy to see the way that Leif loved on and supported Karen and drew out the best in her.  The way that they looked at and spoke to one another was very sweet to watch and (hopefully) capture!  Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!  Love you guys!

Trent & Lauren’s Engagement

In October of 2008 I helped administrate a conference called Convergence and at that conference I met Trent & Lauren.  I found out later that Trent & Lauren also met each other there, and discovered that they’d been going to the same church and working with the same youth group for months and never managed to meet.  Trent said that he knew from that point on that Lauren was the girl he was supposed to marry.  He pursued her over the next few months and eventually she decided that he was the one for her as well.  I’ve become friends with both of them as well over the last year and a half and it was so fun to have them at the Convergence Conference this last year, 2009, engaged and about to be married!  Lauren is a dancer which shows through so clearly in the poise and grace with which she moves and lives.  Trent is a passionate and hilarious man who is full of life!  The two of them together are such a wonderful combination!  I had so much fun with them as we spent a couple of hours laughing and wandering our way through the back alleys of Olde Town Fort Collins.  Trent & Lauren you two are such a delight to be with and I treasure your friendships, thank you for allowing me to be part of your story!

Morgan & Brandon – Getting to Know You

Last week I had the great pleasure of driving up to Fort Collins to meet with Morgan and Brandon and talk about photographing their wedding in May of 2010.  We were going to do an engagement shoot but because the weather was so strange (pouring rain on and off and so much hail it looked like snow) it didn’t look like we were going to be able to get outside.  Fortunately for us the weather cleared at least long enough for us to get some great shots!  We wandered through Olde Town Fort Collins which is such a fun place!  I’m excited for more opportunities to shoot there in the future!  Not only are they both gorgeous and photogenic but they have such obvious love and affection for each other that it is easy and fun to capture in photographs.  Moe & Brandon, I can’t wait to work with you both again soon!

Morgan wanted a photo like the one that I did for Jessica & Adam’s engagement shoot, I like the similar pose but different feel of this one!

Definitely a favorite from this shoot!

My other favorite from this shoot!  I love the way he looks at her, so sweet!
