A couple of weekends I had the opportunity to meet a very special lady by the name of Megan. Megan and my younger brother Joseph have been in a serious long distance relationship and because I’m a long distance from both of their locations I had never gotten to meet her. She came to Asheville, which is about 3 hours from me, for a speaking engagement and I drove out to meet her! During the course of the weekend we spent together we got to go do a little exploring in downtown Asheville. It was delightful! Asheville reminds me very much of my dear Boulder, Colorado with all of the artsy little boutiques and fun shops. While we were walking around I took a few pictures, they don’t do Asheville justice but I was trying not to lose myself behind the camera! It was such a treat to get to meet the incredible young lady that my brother is so enraptured with, she is deserving of the high words he speaks of her! What an amazing woman!

We had some fun with this old, abandoned parking garage.

Some fun signs!

Megan was speaking about a youth compassion movement called Waweza Movement she has started, her motto in a sense is that if we all do our small part it will equal big changes. She’s proved that point by raising nearly $50,000 from teenagers giving up two coffees and one Chipotle (or other meal) a month in order to build an orphanage in Kenya. While I was with her she received the rest of the money she needed to complete it and move orphans in, what an exciting moment! You can watch this video on Megan’s story and hear more about it!
Or see some of the beautiful little children she’s helping!
