Brock & Chelsie Nebraska Maternity Photos

I have had the privilege of visiting one of my dear friends on her family’s ranch in northern Nebraska for New Years.  I have been here for a few days bashing around with Tiffany on the ranch and it has been a great adventure!  Tiffany’s sister-in-law Chelsie is an amazing photographer here in Nebraska and I got to run out with her and her husband Brock, with Tiffany acting as our stylist, to take a few pictures of them together.

Photo bomb by our stylist the lovely Tiffany. :) Gotta have at least one classic portrait in there.

The following two are definitely my faves!

Gotta finish it off with a family photo with “big brother” Archimedes

A Room With A View #somethingpretty

Here’s a little something to prettify your day.  I know what you’re thinking, is prettify a word?  It is now! :) I took this photo at my sweet brother & new sister-in-love’s house when I went to Cincinnati, OH for their wedding in November.  11.11.11 baby.

Savannah

A couple of months ago three of my friends and I took a weekend road trip to the Savannah area.  Savannah was delightful!  A city full of creativity and inspiration.  I can hardly wait to go back!  We visited St. Simon’s Island, Tybee Island, Savannah, and Jekyll Island.  We discovered fantastic driftwood filled beach while visiting Jekyll Island and I could not resist some photos!

Check out those roots!!

Exploring Asheville with Megan!

A couple of weekends I had the opportunity to meet a very special lady by the name of Megan.  Megan and my younger brother Joseph have been in a serious long distance relationship and because I’m a long distance from both of their locations I had never gotten to meet her.  She came to Asheville, which is about 3 hours from me, for a speaking engagement and I drove out to meet her!  During the course of the weekend we spent together we got to go do a little exploring in downtown Asheville.  It was delightful!  Asheville reminds me very much of my dear Boulder, Colorado with all of the artsy little boutiques and fun shops.  While we were walking around I took a few pictures, they don’t do Asheville justice but I was trying  not to lose myself behind the camera!  It was such a treat to get to meet the incredible young lady that my brother is so enraptured with, she is deserving of the high words he speaks of her!  What an amazing woman!

We had some fun with this old, abandoned parking garage.

Some fun signs!

Megan was speaking about a youth compassion movement called Waweza Movement she has started, her motto in a sense is that if we all do our small part it will equal big changes.  She’s proved that point by raising nearly $50,000 from teenagers giving up two coffees and one Chipotle (or other meal) a month in order to build an orphanage in Kenya.  While I was with her she received the rest of the money she needed to complete it and move orphans in, what an exciting moment!  You can watch this video on Megan’s story and hear more about it!

Or see some of the beautiful little children she’s helping!

A Day at the Biltmore

A while back I went on a planning retreat to Moravian Falls with the admin job that I’m presently working and at the end of it one of the ladies treated all of us to a day at the Biltmore Estate.  I came no where near capturing the immensity and grandeur of this incredible “house” in Asheville, NC.  It was such a treat to get to explore the house – we did both an audio tour and the Butler’s tour – and hear the history of the place.  I was quite dismayed to discover that they don’t allow any photos inside the house but I grabbed a few quick snaps on the outside.  Here are a few of my favorites!

We ate lunch in part of the massive stables that had been converted into a cafe.  I really liked their light fixtures…which my friends teased me about a bit…they were far from the fanciest ones we saw that day.

My friend and fellow explorer Nichole.

To enter the house you had to pass by these fierce sentinels

There were mischievous looking gargoyles all over the outsides of the house.

Not my favorite picture of me, but my friends look good (I’m the one awkwardly holding the camera – purple scarf)!  :)   Proof that we were really there!
