Story of My Life: Brunch

This morning I got up having finally (after borrowing my neighbor’s rolling pin) gathered all of the materials to make a biscuit mix that Joe & Meg gave me when I was in Cinci a couple of weeks ago. It called for both heavy cream and half and half, both dairy products that I do not regularly keep on hand. I purchased little baby containers of them at the store over the last two weeks and at last, it’s biscuit time!

The box had a recipe for cinnamon rolls as well as biscuits so I split the dough and made half biscuits and half cinnamon rolls! I’m excited to see how they turn out! :)

Someone gave me some yummy venison sausage last week, far less gamey than most venison I’ve had before, and I fried those up too. Brunch is on!

Cinnamon rolls just came out of the oven right as I finished this! They sure look good! :)

Story of My Life: Jessica

Passionate heart. Wavy black hair. iPhone. Thoughtful brown eyes. Artsy accessories. Canadian (thought I forget that part sometimes). These are a few of the things that come to mind when I think of my friend Jessica. She was in town this last week and stayed in our home while she was here which was delightful. Jess is one of those people who is deep, thoughtful, and full of wisdom, but is also fun with hilarious stories to tell. She is someone who is worth taking the time to get to know. Hopefully you’ll see a little glimpse of her in these quick shots I took right before she left.

Did you catch the twinkle in those brown eyes?

Story of My Life: Me

This morning I had an interview so I was dressed up and looking my best first thing!  I had on a bit more makeup and fancier clothes than usual and had a good time of it.  After coming home I decided to take advantage of the light and the make up and take a few self portraits.

I hope you enjoyed getting a closer look at me!

Cincinnati Trip Preview

This past weekend I took a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio to visit my brother & sister-in-love and take a bunch of pictures!  It was such a great trip!  We were blessed with marvelous weather and some really fun locations, not to mention amazing people to photograph!  There will be much more coming soon!

We started the weekend off right with lots of good food.

Then we did a super fun “Trash the Dress” shoot with Joe & Meg.

Then we had more good food.

I got up reeeeeally early on Monday to do a sunrise engagement shoot with Alex & Jessica!  They were such good sports braving not only the dark but also the freezing cold weather.  I’d say it was worth it for those colors!

I went back to Joe & Meg’s house for about an hour and then headed to the other side of town to do a fun maternity shoot with Brayton & Nikki.  When I say fun, I mean fun.  We’re talking finger paint, musical instruments, and their super eclectic style.

We took Megan’s bestie Melissa out for her 21st birthday right before I left and we surprised her by doing a mini shoot downtown.

I also made a quick 12-hour stop in Columbus, Ohio on my way home and did a mini-shoot with my friend Tina Marie.

More than anything it was truly a delight to get to spend so much time with my dear brother and his lovely wife.  I had only seen them once since their wedding in November and it was so nice to get to hang out together without the wedding rush.

Lots of editing ahead but I’m so excited to share these pictures with you that it should go quickly!  Keep your eyes peeled (what a weird expression) for more!

Story of My Life: Rocking the Ukelele

How do I describe my friend Sarah Buchanan? Well, there’s her amazing hair, her sense of humor, her awesome style, the fact that she plays multiple cool instruments (think ukelele and cello…yeah, she picked the cool ones!) aaaand she’s a dancer and all around super creative person. Do you want to be friends with her yet? Good! You should get to know her if you ever have the chance, she’s great! We got to hang out today and it was, as always, a delightful time!

Sarah made this!
